qld: Sharks close beaches for second day
Gold Coast beaches have been closed for a second successive day after scores of sharks
were spotted close to the shore.
Surf patrols closed beaches from Burleigh to Southport as the hammerhead .. grey nurse
and whaler sharks fed on schools of bait fish in the shallows.
Lifesavers say most swimmers were happy to obey the warnings .. but some surfers were
still putting themselves at risk .. going within metres of the feeding frenzy.
