VIC:French ambassador eulogies Wake
The French ambassador to Australia has eulogised Australia's most decorated World War
II servicewoman NANCY WAKE, as a hero who stood tall in the ugliest circumstances.
WAKE, who passed away in a London hospital early this morning, aged 98, saved thousands
of Allied lives by guiding them through escape routes and sabotaging German installations.
Ambassador MICHEL FILHOL says WAKE's contribution to the French resistance can't be overstated.
