Vic: Father and son suffer smoke inhalation in house fire
An elderly man and his middle-aged son have both been taken to hospital overnight suffering
smoke inhalation .. after fire gutted their 100-year-old house in Melbourne's inner north-west.
Fire crews were called to the house in Ascot Vale just before midnight .. to find the
double-storey brick house well alight.
The two men .. aged 79 and 50 .. were outside.
Fire authorities say the house was full of newspapers and rubbish the men had collected
over the years.
The blaze took 20 firefighters 40 minutes to control .. and has caused an estimated
350 thousand dollars worth of damage to the house.
The cause of the fire isn't yet known.
