Fed: Refugee advocates demand guarantee visas wil be granted

CANBERRA, Jan 10 AAP - Refugee advocates today sought assurances from the Australian
government that it would not pressure Nauru to deny visas to doctors hoping to see asylum
seekers on the island.
The federal government has refused to fund an independent medical team wanting to travel
to Nauru, at the request of the Nauruan government, but the doctors remain confident of
raising funds to charter a flight to the tiny Pacific nation.
