The Niskayuna Board of Education tabled a vote Monday night to designate English as the district's official language.
The vote, which was put off indefinitely, was suggested after introduction in the state Assembly of a measure being promoted by James Tedisco, R-Schenectady, who wants to ensure that all students are literate in English when they graduate from public school.
